My Biography

Hi my name is Jo-an Collins. It is truly an honor to be here with you today. I am a lifestyle Consultant. I believe that my path in this life is to continue to heal my pain and unconscious rage that has ruled and disrupted much of my life. Learning has played a profound role in my process.

Education in many different forms has led me to that safe internal place where I can settle, do personal inquiry, learn, heal, evolve and grow. In my first year at university I learned so much about myself and humanity through the study of history and literature Once I entered teaching I soon came to appreciate the saying, If you want to learn, teach. My students have continued to be my best teachers. After several years of teaching I returned to university to complete an Honours degree in fine art. I thrived in the world of creative silence. Ten years later while working on my master’s degree in religion and culture

I came to appreciate narrative writing as a deeply creative and healing academic process. It was the narrative connection to writing that carried me into my PhD. studies in personal and professional development. Two of the most important courses I took were in meditation and narrative inquiry. Years later my need to continue my journey into creative stillness was sustained through my studies at Chopra Center. Over the years I became certified through the Chopra Center in Perfect Health, later as a Yoga teacher and most recently as a meditation teacher. It has taken me until now to stop hiding.

I am taking me and my cards out of their box to share the joy of stillness with you. Through my experience with using my cards I found they provide me with food for thought. Sometimes they challenge me to make positive creative movement in my life. It is my hope they will support others on their journey as they discover and celebrate their own lives and live their purpose. I decided to integrate the use of my cards into my ten minute meditations because

I wanted to introduce the experience of silence and stillness to people who may never consciously choose to give it a try. I simply want to open one small door and lit a candle.
